danny moore aka pvre matrix is from a generation of young techno producers out of brooklyn who come at the music without preconcieved notions or boundaries in their approach to production and playing live. he is the epitomy of the slash and burn blitzkrieg attitude of new producers popping up under the jmz everyday. while very interesting to see the scene develop this way, few have executed in such a fashion as pvre matrix has. impeccabily produced without losing its sense of urgency or brutality and clocking in at breakneck speed, pvre matrix is out for blood, and his three track debuts prove as such. while you might not catch danny moore in your local big room anytime soon, he is undeniably a force that is present and will crush you regardless.

the second loveit press comes right in time for the festival season and for dusty basements too. suolcity is a young producer from stuttgart, the spot for house business again. probably he felt it already as intern at rocker 33?, the club such as panorama bar and robert johnson. how else could you explain the b-side rush, you had to feel this dubby, gritty bassline. not hard enough - so maybe rush harder, you can have it all.

it is no easy task to blend the cerebral with the soulful - the two tend to stand at opposing corners in the deep house world and producers are often forced to choose one or the other - to mix both is a lofty aim. maddermodes may not have set out with this merger in mind when launching the project - mental space - but the end result is striking in its effortless fusion. released under the artists own label, shift coordinate points, the ep consists of two tracks: mental space and human science. the titles, of course, lead one to assume there will be a strong degree of technicality and complexity behind the songs and indeed there is, what is surprising is the level of personality and moodiness that also exists.

the original version is nothing short of a classic, but its as if the song had never been invited to a louie vega post-midnight global extravaganza. was the song not aware that spellbound dancing and high bpms were the standard for house music? normally, such a blaring disregard for nightlife decorum would relegate a song to the pits of sonic hell, but we�re talking about george clinton here! the original opens up with a g-funk groove that screams westside and lowriders. the listener is then blessed with clinton as he adds his sage, soulful and pimpadelic vocals, complemented by funkadelic singers asking him about the pains of the funk. the semblance of a beat that could drive the dancefloor into the morning hours is there, but in no way has it blossomed into its full glory. enter louie vega.

dear wanderer, ramona is happy to present the video dead, chinaski s debut-­ep for live at robert johnson. originally hailing from the high north of germany, rostock near the rough and stormy sea, the young man with interests in 80s video-­aesthetics and vintage synthesizers is now calling offenbach his home­turf. chinaskis ep starts out with time to kill, a straight forward hypnotizing jacker directly heading to the synthesized happiness. midnight workout features a different side to the young talent sensitive placed synth harmonies packed in a vintage-­pop interlude. after a journey through more harmonious domains, night school turns the page again and picks up on those synth-waves and put ramona away from her calm drive through the midnight heat, right on the dancefloor mesmerizing analogue deep housevibes all over the place.hide society steps out of context and mixes chinaskis affection for the warmth of these marvelous synth-­sounds with trippy post-­breaking or even proto-­hiphop sounds topped off with a weird vocal sample. the title­track the video dead summons all emotional power ramona could implant into a synthesizer, the heartbeat like reduced kick-­drum and hihats floating around the track are mostly incidental or not even there for the ears. purely visual.

*refugee camp (bootleg versions)* is a remix album of a song selection from the refugees 1994 debut *blunted on reality* and follow-up *the score*, released in 1996. the album features eight tracks, including seven remixes, and one new recording. 180 gram audiophile vinyl pressing.

nicolas villebrun, half of society of silence and acid square dance, is putting out his first solo album on fragil musique, accurately titled « snare roll lp ». villebrun only needed a couple of recording sessions during a short period of time, to put the whole thing out from a unique set up. although an accomplished musician, tite seems to leave his technical skills aside when crafting his music, embracing all the spontaneity one would expect from a techno producer. listening to the lp, the title starts to make sense. when the snares are not rolling, the smooth basslines take over, strongly dragging bodies towards the dance floor. hungry man, move into hell, a white track, and the amazing the bell glides are among those. basslines curved as a horse s behind, subtly swifting through the air, are playing around with smartly spread out rhythms and textures. tite comes up with nine commonly grounded tracks, but with the necessary talent and sharpness to produce a resolutely fine, homogeneous, and yet diversified techno lp.

as with the best techno, the best minimalist records, the best krautrock ventures, this first model alpha lp hints at a weird sense of time, not totally of the past, not totally of the future, not at all of the present. something in between, a time travel machine that can take you on a random journey. listening to those tracks is a bit like making time�s flow stop.

spanish techno purveyors exium make their debut on detroit underground with a smashing ep of thunderous, mind-altering techno. from the restrained beginning of true force, you might not know you are in for shock therapy, but midway through the a1 cut, the intent becomes clear.

it�s not often that a breakthrough producer manages to cause major hype after just one release but when that artist is from the uk, putting out a brilliant ep on moodymann�s mahogani music, you start to realize how it happened in dan shake�s case. now its time for dan to build on this incredible start and from the way things are looking it�s safe to say it�s all going in the right direction. another rising star from the uk is wolf music regular medlar who has been making serious waves the last 5 years. remixes for the likes of glenn astro and disclosure have all helped put him in the spotlight and his debut lp sleep from 2013 delivered in spades. so when the news that these two were joining forces for a collaborative project reached us here at d.o.g we wanted in on the action.

laurine frost and denis kaznacheev teamed up to syud. their first ep �soho� based on studio tapes which were recorded earlier in a small village not too far from moscow. all the three extraordinary pieces obviously contain modular synth, field recording elements and show the alloy of unique frost-kaznacheev style. tricky rumbling, heavy rolling basslines and crazy concept. joyfully intelligent tunes inside and outside of the dancefloors.

evan caminitis slow but steady progression towards electronic music from sand-swept guitar drone mirrors the pace of the music he makes. it has been measured, each move well-considered and clearly intentional. caminiti has immersed himself in electronic production on meridian, creating organic sounds through his machines, patching sounds that recall the brassy resonance of horns and hazy choral clusters. synthesizers hiss and crackle under layers of reverb and fog. sounds undulate and implode in upon themselves, with bursts of noise dropping in and out to create shadows of rhythm. caminitis electronic systems do not run autonomously - the sounds heard on meridian required real-time human interaction to bring them to life, and that human touch is essential to the mysterious atmosphere he produces on this new album.

for the past few years, young denmark vessey has been releasing a series of albums, both as a leader of carious groups and as a sideman in various others, which definitely mark him as one of the most exciting young players in music. vessey�s last album prior to this (2013�s cult classic) employed scud one for the rhythm section. vessey, in his own playing suggest that he may be forging a link between the new mainstream and prior innovations. it is to vessey�s credit that this album achieves a surprising degree of unity. there is little of the haphazard feeling that too often arrends blowing sessions by pick-up bands. it would be easier to mistake this for a group which works regularly. part of that is simply because vessey is a part of the new mainstream, the part that is seeking beyond the accepted common language to find ways of extending it. the rest is because of vessey�s unusual talent.
